We used to believe that wrinkles were as certain as death and taxes, but not any more. Botox® Cosmetic, the popular fix for celebrities and everyday people alike, is now accepted as a safe, effective treatment for wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows (frown lines), and in the "crow's feet" areas of the face.
Botox Cosmetic works by weakening the muscles that surround wrinkles so that the muscles relax and the overlying skin flattens. Unlike injectable fillers such as collagen and fat transfers that fill in wrinkles or depressions, Botox Cosmetic physically weakens the muscles so that the facial skin is smoothed, relaxed, and natural looking.
We always prepare your formulation of Botox Cosmetic fresh on the day of injection at our Miami office. Dr. Polo performs Botox Cosmetic injections by carefully selecting the precise area of injection for the best results possible. Because the paralysis of the facial muscles is temporary, re-injection is usually necessary within 3 to 10 months.
The specific risks and the suitability of Botox Cosmetic can be determined only at the time of your consultation with Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Polo. All procedures have some degree of risk, but major complications are rare.
Dr. Polo performs all injectable treatments himself. He goes to great lengths to ensure that patients are as comfortable as possible during their treatments. These measures include: use of the smallest, specialized micro cannulas; application of prescription strength topical anesthetics to the skin; and use of fillers pre-mixed with local anesthetics.

Treatments with Dr. Polo
Cosmetic consultations with Dr. Polo are required prior to initial treatment ($100 fee applied toward procedure).
A Medicalia CCH Mask application is recommended following all laser, injectable, and/or Botox procedures offered for maximum skin comfort and faster recovery. This cooling treatment relieves irritation, skin heat and redness, and minimizes the risk of discoloration and bruising. $50.
